The UV rays leach plasticizers from the rubber, causing the tires to become porous and cracked \u2013 damage that isn&#039;t immediately visible. Covering them helps, but the risk of pre-existing damage, which can then lead to a blowout or air loss, remains.<\/p>\n<p>The Tire Safety Initiative therefore recommends having your tires checked by a professional before embarking on a longer holiday trip.<\/p>\n<p>We also recommend the use of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dev.tiremoni.com\/cms\">TireMoni<\/a> Tire pressure monitoring system<\/strong>. This allows air loss to be detected early, preventing tire blowouts and accidents.
