"TPM Systems AG proves that retrofitting is often miles ahead of the original equipment with its clever TiremoniTM-100 tire pressure monitoring kit. Anyone who orders the kit will initially find it hard to believe what they get for their 139 euros: four tire pressure and temperature sensors that screw onto the tire valve, a wireless control unit with a suction cup or adhesive mount, all necessary batteries, and\u2014if the original valve with the installed sensors extends beyond the wheel\u2014four short metal valve stems.<\/p>\n
The latter would have to be fitted by a tyre specialist, while the former can be installed in minutes even by left-handed people: insert batteries, switch on the main unit, screw the sensors onto the valve \u2013 done.<\/p>\n
The result is astonishing: The pressure of each individual tire appears with high precision on the display, which can also be illuminated for a few seconds at the touch of a button. The pressure (PSI, bar, kilopascals) and temperature units can then be easily programmed, as well as upper and lower limits for pressure and temperature. If the defined safe range is exceeded, a beep and the display illuminates.<\/p>\n
In testing, the sensors impressed with their fast response and high precision. In addition to the safety factor, the Tiremoni set also scores points for convenience and economy: Routine checks at the gas station are no longer necessary, and the correct tire pressure ensures lower fuel consumption. The verdict is "highly recommended" \u2013 and not just in light of the prices the automotive industry charges for comparable systems ex works.<\/p>\n
