Hamburg – German drivers are increasingly having to pay to inflate their tires. Those wanting to pump up their air already have to insert at least one euro into machines at 200 gas stations. In return, they receive five minutes of tire pressure. More and more gas stations could now introduce this procedure. According to "Auto Bild," the Shell gas station chain, for example, is currently testing three such coin-operated machines near the Dutch border. In a six-month field trial, Shell wants to test whether German drivers are as willing to pay as their Dutch counterparts.
