EU regulations for car dealers - TireMoni helps!
From November 1st, 2014, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) is mandatory for newly registered vehicles. This poses problems for all dealers who sell EU re-imports and do not want to register them before November 1st, 2014. These dealers have vehicles that do not yet have a TPMS and are not yet registered. According to the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) (there is a letter from the KBA to the Ministry in North Rhine-Westphalia clarifying this), from November 1st, 2014, every newly registered vehicle must have a TPMS that complies with ECE R64.
This means that for the dealer and re-importer there are now only 2 options:
1) He registers the car for a day before November 1st. This means he loses its new car status and the vehicle is worth less to him.
2) He retrofits a TPMS that complies with ECE R64. A TireMoni system is particularly suitable here. It is quick and easy to retrofit, robust and inexpensive. Https://shop.TireMoni.com
