Tire pressure: what can the TireMoni retrofit system do?

Retrofitting TireMoni tire pressure monitoring systems can be much cheaper than using systems built into the tire.

Correct tire pressure helps save fuel and reduces tire wear. An active electronic tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) can do much more, however; it warns the driver while driving if the tire pressure changes above a certain threshold. Some drivers believe they can feel such a change while driving. This may have been true with the radial tires used in the past, but with today's steel-belted radial tires, determining tire pressure by feel or by looking at the tire is no longer possible. The tire may have lost air and, at high speeds, still track perfectly straight due to rotational forces. It's only when cornering or braking that the situation becomes extremely dangerous in an instant. Therefore, it's crucial to know the tire pressure at all times. For example, the TireMoni-Checkair TM100, a retrofit tire pressure monitoring system awarded first place by the ADAC (German Automobile Club), uses sensors that are screwed directly onto the outside of the valves – an intelligent solution.
Four sensors are sufficient – even for winter tires: With systems integrated into the tire, you need a second set of sensors for winter tires; these cost almost as much again as your initial investment. TireMoni TM-100 is complete from the start; this makes TireMoni TM-100 the most affordable system on the market and the winner of the ADAC comparison test.
Sensor lifespan is virtually unlimited and the battery is replaceable: With systems integrated into the tire, you can't replace the sensor batteries. After 5-7 years, the batteries are dead, and you have to buy new sensors and throw the old ones away. With TireMoni-Checkair sensors, you simply replace the batteries; this protects the environment and your wallet.
Maximum flexibility: The TireMoni TM-100 tire pressure monitoring system belongs to you, not your car. If you want to switch vehicles for a short time (e.g., convertible or camper van) or need a rental car, simply take the TireMoni TM-100 with you.
This means that retrofitting can not only be much more cost-effective, even more cost-effective than repairing a built-in system, but also that retrofitting delivers the tire safety you expect today. www.tiremoni.com
