Am I the street?
This isn't a rhetorical question. As a motorcyclist, I read the road, and who we are, isn't that also determined by what we've read? I especially love reading the older, smaller roads in the Black Forest. The ones with their many surface patterns, the many curves, the many surprises lurking around the bends. When I translate what I've read into riding behavior, I'm happy with a machine that reacts directly, brakes well, accelerates even better, handles corners well, and so on. Direct response is also a matter of the tires and, above all, the tire pressure. A tire with too little pressure wobbles and smears, prompting steering movements that can be very dangerous under certain circumstances. A good, properly inflated tire can withstand more in corners and during braking maneuvers than I often think—the mechanics of the black art constantly convince me of this, and I've often been very grateful to them. But a tire can only perform well if its basic need, air pressure, is properly met. Therefore, an electronic tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) is definitely worthwhile.
