Smooth driving is only possible with good, properly inflated tires. Checking the tire pressure at the gas station is a small step in this direction. More important, however, is monitoring the tires while driving. For this reason, they find it difficult to say what else they could do to comply with stricter limits. Optimizing rolling resistance is only achieved with properly inflated tires; a flat tire, no matter how technically sound, generates high rolling resistance and therefore high fuel consumption.
